Gloria in Excelsis Deo!

Peace prevails when its barriers are removed. Peace is in fact a natural state of consciousness for the human being. It is a largely forgotten state, but it is a natural state nonetheless—intrinsic to our very essence. Peace is an aspect of Grace. It descends on us to fill the gaps that are now available. These gaps are made available through our letting go of that which is not peaceful or conducive to it. For example, anger arises and I allow myself to be with that anger until it dissipates—or it arises and in an instant I let it go. There is now a space where the energy of anger used to be. This space creates the condition necessary for peace to arrive. It is a gift that is given, subject to us doing our part in letting go.

Peace is an aspect of Reality. Some may perceive violence or conflict to be the opposite of peace when in truth, there is only one variable—peace itself. Violence or conflict is actually the absence of peace. Whether in the form of thought, word or action, non-peace does not stand upon any viable or sustainable legs—it is merely the absence of that which is real (i.e., peace itself). As an analogy, cold is not the opposite of hot; cold is merely the absence of heat. Warmth is measured by the degree of the presence of heat. Peace can be likened to the warmth of the sun. One need not do anything to deserve the warmth of the sun. One needs only to remove the clouds. In the empty space of the sky peace reveals itself out of the Infinite Love from which it came.
