Fun & Enjoyment

Gloria in Excelsis Deo!

I have come to the realization that fun and enjoyment are not only important aspects of human life, but divine ones. The intention, ability, and attitude toward living a life filled with wonder, amusement, laughter, dancing, exploration, and even excitement seem to elevate everyone involved, replace stagnant emotions/patterns, and connect one to one’s own Self a little more.

But beyond the pragmatic view of this philosophy, it reminds us that at some level it’s all a game. It’s all a journey that we’ve chosen to undergo, even if that’s unbeknownst to us consciously. In that sense, we surrender to enjoyment as a God-given right of ours as human beings—to have fun, to express ourselves, to play. If the world is our playground, fun and enjoyment are its energies resulting from our aliveness.

Further, I’ve noticed that when I’m able to sustain a certain level of fun and enjoyment, I not only uplift those around, but I maintain the identification with my own loving, joie de vivre self. If I identify something in my experience of life as a thought/feeling that prevents me from sustaining fun and enjoyment, I work to understand it and let it go—so I can go back to playing.

This world is scrumptious. Miraculous. A wonder of colors, flavors, sights, experiences, ups, downs, tragedies, victories, vividness, and love. What’s not to enjoy about that? Let life not be a drag. Let it be fun.
