Gloria in Excelsis Deo!
Trust is a virtue or attribute that is essential to a fulfilling, successful, and healthy life. It is also paramount to overcoming the inner obstacles, which turn out to be the primary ones and in fact the only obstacles on the journey. Trust is Who You Are–an aspect of your deepest inner Self as Existence. That which you are (trust) leads you to That Which You Are automatically by its very nature. To develop trust, you need not develop it at all–but only access it. What you do is to locate trust within yourself and allow yourself to be that part of you. As you embody the quality of Trust, it expands as a revelation and applies this trusting attitude to all of life’s situations.
Further, trust allows us to pass through trials and tribulations without suffering. Sometimes even without pain. When we truly trust, we delete the need to consciously comprehend what we’re going through. For example, let’s say a loved one has recently passed away. You may not understand cognitively why this needed to happen now in a particular way, but you can trust in the perfection of it–the perfection of life, the perfect timing of things, and even the perfection of the seemingly imperfect. A deep sense of trust minimizes grief and the sense of loss. Trust allows us to relax in the darkest of hours, rendering the “why” less necessary to comprehend intellectually. You go on allowing life to occur with an inner knowingness that everything happens perfectly without us.
