Friendship exists as the ultimate union between people. Where there is a no longer any division, friendship reigns supreme. Where there is no longer any animosity, you will find friendship. Friendship is synonymous with unity. Unity is the bridge to the Divine. When we take a step towards friendship, we take a step towards Truth. Some people are born as good friends. It comes naturally to them. Others have to work at it. A first step to friendship would be to identify whether you are already a good friend–to yourself, to the other, to life–and whether or not it’s something that must be developed or learned.
Friendship is a form of Love. Love expresses itself in many ways, and perhaps one of the most elevated forms is Friendship. A friend is honest with the other. A friend supports unconditionally. A friend is reliable, trustable. A friend will tell you to your face if you’re out of line–and confront you assertively if necessary. Friends spend time together. They share moments, experiences, journeys. And the best part? Friendship never ends. In the journey of the evolution of the human being–even far beyond the waking hours of the day–Friendship is, and always will be. It is eternal.
