How to Go About Your Day

Gloria in Excelsis Deo!

The best way that I have found to live my life is to maintain an ongoing posture/attitude/intention of openness, positivity, and subtle devotion toward life itself. It’s a subjective state/relationship toward your life, as if you were constantly seeking to live up to your potential, make the highest choice possible in any given situation, and respond in the most loving, kind, and uplifting manner. It’s as if you were to say, “Today I commit myself to yearning for the best possible outcome in every moment, to be the best ‘me’ I can be, to be honest, kind, and friendly, and to be ready and willing to deal with whatever challenge may arise, and to let go all resistances to life’s events.”

In the beginning, you may need to consciously set this intention, or even verbalize some version of it internally. After concentrating on it throughout the day—perhaps over the course of a few days—it will become automatic and integrated into who you are. This new aspect of self is now the ongoing intention for your entire life. It will spur new opportunities, clarity, willingness, and, ultimately, a sense of completeness and fulfillment.

The intention that we have toward life and the events of life has a monumental effect on what occurs and how we process it. The inner processing of life’s events is much more important than the events themselves, because an external ‘event’ (or person, interaction, email, etc.) cannot actually be experienced. What we experience is the inner response to those events as they are perceived through our senses and processed through mind. The intention we hold, which can become ongoing and effortless, radically improves the quality of our inner experience, and in turn fosters a positive response, which in turn creates a virtuous circle.
